CartONG's vocation is to put data - in particular geographic data - at the service of humanitarian, development and social action projects. As a H2H (Humanitarian to Humanitarian) support organisation, our objective is to support all actors in the international solidarity sector in the technical, strategic and ethical challenges they face with the use of digital technologies.
Our use of information management (IM) tools and methodologies aims to better understand the challenges of intervention contexts and to improve the quality and accountability of field activities, in particular through better needs assessment and monitoring and evaluation.

Our expectations/interest in creating a partnership
Within the framework of its volunteering activities, CartONG is looking for partnerships with international and local solidarity structures, as well as with companies and local authorities.
We are looking for companies and local authorities who are sensitive to our cause. We are looking for companies and local authorities that are sensitive to our cause, in order to offer, thanks to the sponsorship of skills, convivial activities to raise awareness of international solidarity. Several levels of partnership are conceivable:
- First, we can organise a mapathon at your workplace. Mapathons, organised as part of the MissingMaps project, are two-hour activities in which you and your teams map a humanitarian intervention area. No previous skills are required.
- Later, we can deepen our partnership to offer your staff members the opportunity to participate in small mapping or data management projects in support of small and medium-sized NGOs. This form of skills sponsorship can allow you to mobilise a member of your team on a rewarding project, for example during a break in workload.
We are also looking for small and medium-sized local or international solidarity structures that have mapping or data management needs. For several years, CartONG has benefited from the support of a community of volunteers who mobilize to provide free support to small and medium-sized NGOs. Thanks to funding from the Fonjep mandated by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we will increase the volume of these volunteer projects until the end of 2022. Our volunteers could carry out, among others
- A base map: draw the roads and buildings in your intervention areas
- A static map
- A dynamic map
- Mobile location-based data collection or training for your teams
We first help the requesting organisation to define its needs, then we put it in touch with volunteers, selected for their skills, to meet the identified needs.
