Asmerade is a non-profit organization supporting grassroots development initiatives. It was officially created in 2002, in accordance with the law n° 40-484 of July 1st 1901. It is recognized by the Togolese government and registered under the number 6524/MISD/SG/2004 and Receipt N° 0149/MAT-SG-DAPOC-DOCA/2007.
This association is independent and does not receive any subsidies from the State. This lack of means is an obstacle to a large number of projects that are just waiting to start. In spite of this, the actions are numerous: they have always learned to do a lot with little. It is currently composed of about twenty members and a large number of people, beneficiaries of the programs, gravitate around the structure. "ASMERADE TOGO's mission is to help populations in difficulty to find appropriate solutions to their problems.
But we are of the opinion that there is neither universal solution nor ready-made technique. On the other hand, we believe that there is a huge potential of knowledge in our country that we should take advantage of before waiting for foreign interventions. For this reason we try to promote the search for appropriate local solutions. Dieudonné Nofodji - President of Asmerade
