Our expectations/interest in creating a partnership
CIEDEL supports the decentralized cooperation relationship between the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region and the Hauts Bassins Region (Burkina Faso).
In this context, Ciedel supported a study aimed at improving the protection and management of the Kou River valley, which is of strategic importance for Burkina Faso since :
- The city of Bobo Dioulasso (economic capital of the country, 1 million inhabitants) is supplied with drinking water from the Kou water table
- the Kou valley allows the irrigation of several thousand hectares of irrigated perimeters
- the water table provides water for local industries
One of the conclusions of the study is the need to carry out bank stabilization work to avoid silting up the valley.
Ciedel and its local partners (Conseil Régional des Hauts Bassins and its Agence Régionale de Développement) are looking for a company/design office with which to exchange information on bank stabilization techniques and approaches to mobilize local residents (farmers, breeders, etc.) to protect the bank facilities.
Contributions we are looking for from the future partner
- Additional skills/expertise
