Founded in 1992, ESSOR is an international solidarity association dedicated to helping the most vulnerable populations acquire the means to improve their living conditions in the long term. In its early days, the association carried out education and social and economic integration projects in Brazil. Rapidly recognized for the quality and relevance of its work and its methodologies, notably by the Agence Française de Développement and the European Union, ESSOR began actions in favor of the most vulnerable in Mozambique in 1997, in Guinea-Bissau and Chad in 2009, then in the Republic of Congo in 2015.Today, ESSOR carries out development projects in 4 sectors: education (early childhood and adolescence); training and professional integration of young people; agricultural development; and social protection. The association has developed a professional approach and always works in partnership with local players (associations, authorities, businesses, etc.) with a view to sustainability and the empowerment of civil society. Our particularity: ESSOR is an NGO on a human scale, and wishes to keep its current size and not expand in order to remain close to the field and prioritize impact and quality over quantity. Promoting bridges and innovative initiatives between its different countries of intervention, ESSOR has also created a Training Center in 2021 to train international solidarity actors in its methodologies (GRET, Acting 4 Life...).

Drawing on the experience acquired since 1992 in its 4 areas of intervention (Education; Training and Professional Integration; Agricultural Development; Social Protection), ESSOR has developed methodologies for supporting vulnerable populations (Participatory Agricultural Training; Training and Professional Integration Pathway; Preschool Methodology; Citizen Pathway; Social and Professional Integration and Orientation Office), now recognized by players such as the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Union. Capitalized on in manuals, these methodologies are the subject of publications distributed in France and in the countries where ESSOR operates. In addition, through a Training Center set up in 2021, ESSOR is able to train players in the North and South in methodologies that have proven their effectiveness.
