LABIS - SOCIAL INNOVATION LABORATORY

The "Skills for Tomorrow" programme implemented by Solidarité Laïque (a French international NGO) in consortium with Aide et Action and with the support of the AFD-Agence Française de Développement, aims to contribute to the search for new solutions for the empowerment of young people in the outskirts of large cities, while taking into account the problems related to their environment. The programme takes place in 6 countries: Benin; Burkina Faso; Côte d'Ivoire; Guinea; Mali and Senegal. Based on relevant local partnerships and participatory situational diagnoses, the programme aims to set up Social Innovation Laboratories (LABIS).

LABIS is a third place. Before being a place, it is a spirit materialized in a physical space installed in the heart of a territory. With an innovative animation, its project focuses on the empowerment of young people by responding to questions of employability and responsible civic engagement to increase the number of young people aware and able to respond to the challenges of their territory.
It is a space for innovation open to all. It is also a space of work, mixity, creativity and socialisation that will study and propose solutions to societal problems for the benefit of the community.

The programme is aimed at all types of young people, from 16 to 35 years old, young graduates, school dropouts, young people who have not had the chance to go to school.

In Benin, the "Skills for Tomorrow" programme through LABIS in Porto-Novo is implemented with RADEB - Réseau des Acteurs de Développement de l'Education au Bénin.
