MONKILOWATT is developing CONTAIWATT, an ultra-mobile and modular solution for living bases in a constrained environment with reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
The use cases for supporting populations are numerous: offices and professional premises, medical facilities, water production, purification or treatment stations, conservation of foodstuffs and sensitive goods, housing and catering for personnel, etc.
The basic module - photovoltaic system, batteries, electrical distribution, structure/shelter and associated tools - is housed in a 20-foot container. Deploying from 75m2 to 150 m² of collectors at 3m height, it makes the most of the underlying land for tents, semi-rigid shelters or other installations. It can be erected on the ground in one day by two people, and the entire electrical system is pre-wired so no electrical skills are required. Depending on the configuration and the area, it delivers 7 to 21 kVA. Different types of batteries, LFP and Sodium, adapted to the areas of use are available.
CONTAINWATT opens up new network architecture schemes such as islanding. It can be deployed either in stand-alone mode (backup possible with an integrated generator) or in island mode on a multi-source network (plug and play).
The CONTAINWATT concept brings the best of both solar and grid technologies to the table in many ways: energy autonomy, lower fuel requirements for genset-based networks, electrical resilience of the overall energy production system, no CO2 emissions, and a reduced logistical and land footprint.

Our expectations/interest in creating a partnership

We offer a solution that can both:

  • to interest NGOs in their rapid deployments in the field without worrying about fuel logistics, which is often a real problem in the field, and with a major logistical gain (150 m² of autonomous shelter in a single 20-foot container)
  • enable the rapid creation of energy self-sufficient infrastructures to enable the development of businesses in the villages (economic development through the creation of "business incubators"),
  • enable partnerships with all actors who need energy for their activities... water treatment, pumping, GSM network, etc
