RESACOOP is one of the 12 regional multi-actor networks in France. With the status of a public interest group, its role is to advise and support organisations in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region involved in international cooperation and solidarity actions with countries in Africa, South America, Asia and Eastern Europe. As a resource centre and "public service" for international cooperation, RESACOOP offers a space for meetings and dialogue, open to all inhabitants of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, with a team of 9 employees in Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand.
> History
Initiated in 1994 by the Prefecture of the region and the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council, following the legal recognition of the international action of local authorities, RESACOOP became a GIP in 2005 and then expanded to the whole Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in 2017, by merging with the CERAPCOOP network.
