Malibox project

Project completed

In Mali, the project is based on the observation that the young population sometimes has little access to digital tools and is less interested in resources linked to artistic fields. It is also important to be able to promote Malian authors on the same level as foreign ones, to local populations and throughout Mali.

The aim of the project? For DataCup to reconnect the younger generation with the authors of artistic projects through Culturethèque, a collection of dedicated Malian digital resources. 3 DataCups have been installed, enabling the dissemination of 2800 resources for 70 GB dedicated in places where the internet connection is weak or non-existent. Deployed with Culturethèque content, the DataCup helps to set up artistic practice workshops for young people, in conjunction with documentary consultation.

The MaliBox cultural collection offers an interesting diversity, including concerts such as "La Nuit du Taman", reports, Malian stories in French and Bambara, radio programs such as Muso Kunda's "Le magazine de la femme malienne" and much more.

Two of the three DataCups acquired by the Institut français du Mali, loaded with MaliBox content, were handed over to the SMART School university and the Wa Kamissoko school complex in December 2023.

Thanks to this initiative, schoolchildren and students now have access to more resources, opening up new educational and cultural perspectives.
