Acting for Social Development

The NGO Agir pour un Développement Social (A.D.S) is a Franco-Togolese non-governmental development and international solidarity organization that places Togolese children and rural populations at the heart of its actions. ADS is dedicated to providing timely assistance to people in real need. The quality of the humanitarian action that ADS strives to implement is characterized by appropriate responses to the needs of populations, which are built with them within the framework of a mutual relationship of trust. Aid is adapted to the local context, and respects and reinforces the dignity of the men, women and children in the areas where ADS operates.
ADS seeks to work in partnership with the local population, respecting their needs and establishing a transparent dialogue. Participation enables humanitarian action to be carried out for and with the people, reinforcing and prolonging the impact of aid, improving the relevance of activities, making projects more responsive to changing needs and limiting negative impacts. Right from the diagnosis stage and throughout the decision-making process, ADS involves local people by explaining who ADS is, what its mandate is, what its methods are, who it works with and who its funders are.
ADS ensures accessible, secure, up-to-date, engaging, transparent and reciprocal communication with populations throughout the program. Particular attention is paid to marginalized people and groups in situations of exclusion. They are informed of program objectives, progress and difficulties encountered, and participate with ADS in the choice of appropriate communication mechanisms.

VISION
The vision of the NGO ADS is to provide quality basic education in the best possible conditions for children and teachers living in rural areas of Togo. The development and socio-economic well-being of these communities depends on the success of these children, for tomorrow they will be major players in society.

OUR MISSION
The mission of the NGO ADS is to contribute to the development of rural communities by building schools and libraries to help children blossom and integrate into society, supplying drinking water (solar-powered boreholes), setting up school canteens and solidarity vegetable gardens to reduce the social burdens still present in these communities.
