Smile Rain has developed and markets a range of connected, energy-independent Impluviums that collect and store rainwater, treat it (with no added chemicals) and distribute it for various uses (washing, watering, drinking water supply).
Smile Rain Drink is a drinking water distribution kiosk with associated services. It dispenses drinking water safely*, on site (no water transport) in identifiable, reusable and recyclable containers (helping to stop the use of single-use plastic bottles).
*Water treatment dedicated to rainwater. On-line monitoring of qualitative and quantitative data on water collected, stored and distributed, and on air quality. Local maintenance alert.
An integrated water resource management solution (RISE) for local, autonomous, responsible and shared management of water resources.
Preliminary analysis of needs, annual rainfall, its distribution over the year, distribution potential, storage requirements, etc.
A product designed for non-technical, local installation, maintenance and distribution management.
A 110m² covered space and associated services: charging station for telephones or computers, Wifi, work and discussion areas, small shop.
What we can contribute

Smile Rain Drink self-powered, connected drinking water kiosk: Over 100m² of shaded space. Collects and stores rainwater, treats it (with no added chemicals) and distributes quality-controlled drinking water. A control interface is dedicated to the user, one to maintenance, and remote control and management of data*collected on site, guaranteeing the proper operation of the installations and the quality of the water distributed. *Quality and quantity of water collected, stored and distributed, air quality, weather conditions.
Each user has a recyclable, identifiable and reusable container dedicated to drinking water, a code integrated into the container and a customer account. Users log in by placing their container under the water cooler or via the control interface. Once the container has been recognized, drinking water can be dispensed.
Our service begins with a diagnosis of available resources and needs (qualitative and quantitative), determining the distribution method and potential, and the storage volume required. We provide an on-site presence to present the project to users/beneficiaries, and to install, commission and train them. We take care of data management and maintenance.

Our expectations/interest in creating a partnership
Smile Rain has begun prospecting in the Sub-Saharan African region, to offer the Smile Rain Drink kiosk, a version dedicated to the distribution of drinking water. A test site for this same version has been in operation for 4 years in the Gard region (Alès).
Our objectives:
- Responding to local problems of access, quality or cost of drinking water for local populations: In towns, when the networks do not allow for a continuous supply of water or water of drinking quality. In villages whose remoteness makes connection to the water network costly.
- Offer an alternative to plastic water bottles and sachets for everyday drinking water supplies.
- Promote local economic development and exchanges.
- Gain visibility in the Sub-Saharan region through an operational pilot site.
- Carry out an environmental, social and economic impact assessment of the project.
Smile Rain is looking for financing partners for its first Smile Rain Drink kiosk project in Côte d'Ivoire, the Republic of Congo or the region.
